VOLUNTEER TIME, TALENT TO HELP A YOUTH
Use this resource to find contact information for organizations that offer various forms of volunteer-based tutoring and/or mentoring in the Chicago region.

NEW MAPS! Follow the news with "THE REST OF THE STORY" This map shows the the legislative district of Illinois State Senator James T. Meeks.  It shows the level of poverty and number of poorly performing schools in the area and indicates sites of tutoring and/or mentoring programs listed in this database. Search the Zip Code Map to find contact information and web sites for tutor/mentor programs in this 60628 zip code, or in different zip codes of the Chicago region. 

Visit the Map Gallery and Mapping for Justice Blog each week to see more maps that illustrate roles political leaders, faith leaders and business leaders can take to support the growth of tutor/mentor programs in different parts of the city. New maps are added each week. Share these with friends, family and co-workers to help mobilize support for tutor/mentor programs in Chicago.

 

Leaders can use these maps, and the Find A Program link at the right to learn which neighborhoods have enough tutor/mentor programs, or where there are too few programs.  Volunteers, donors and business partners can use these maps to determine where to offer talent, leadership, dollars and technology to help existing programs provide constantly improving services, and to help create new programs where needed. Now, when parents, donors and volunteers use the Find A Program link at the right to find contact information, and web links, to tutor/mentor programs operating in specific zip codes of the Chicago region, they will also get a Google Map that shows where these programs are located.

Program LINKS

TheChicago Program LINKS  section has links to Chicago tutor/mentor program web sites. When a program maintains a web site, the information is much more comprehensive than what T/MC provides in the Program Locator database.

This site contains information about the tutor/ mentor programs operating in the Chicago region. If you would like help in forming a T/MC for your own city, email tutormentor2@earthlink.net
